Why do we exercise?
We exercise to keep our bodies strong, toned and fit. So why not our faces too?
Face fitness is becoming increasingly popular, but you do need to be taught correctly by a
professional, who knows all the muscles in the face, and which muscle groups are safe to tone for it to be effective.
What is facial exercise?
Facial exercise is repetitive motions and exaggerated facial expressions, carried out in short bursts of time.
These trained movements tighten and tone the small muscles, which in turn improves skin elasticity, reducing fat pads under the skin.
By strengthening these small muscle groups on a regular basis you can create a toned and leaner face.
In 2018 a study was carried out by a Northwestern University. This is one of the only credible academic studies to measure the benefits and effects of facial exercise.
The study was carried out on a group of 16 women aged between 45 and 65.
The study showed that after 20 weeks of facial exercise these women noticed their faces were leaner and more toned with firmer skin giving a more youthful look.
I strongly believe in facial exercise and over the years I swear by it, and have always done it myself.
